Pre-Requisite Requirements
Must be over the age of 18.
Meet the medical requirements of Network Rail Standard NR/L2/OHS/00124 Competence Specific Fitness Medical Requirements to minimum medical level 4 and Network Rail Standard NR/L2/OHS/0120 (Drugs & Alcohol).
Must bring valid Sentinel Smartcard endorsed with PTS AC, OLEC 1 & OLEC 2. Must not be in Learning Support.
A completed log book demonstrating competence of prior learning (NB: These can be in the form of the actual blue book or Sentinel Swipe-in. Candidates can bring a Sentinel download provided by their Sponsor) and Witness testimony from a Line Manager or Supervisor
Photographic evidence of installing OLE equipment and Previous OLEC certification
Please advise of any special needs i.e. dyslexia in advance of the course.
Must Bring Photo ID - For British Nationals, one of the following (original hard copy - not electronically): a current and valid branded form of identity token, used for accessing the RMI (Railway Maintained Infrastructure) such as a Sentinel Card; in-date and valid full driving licence; in-date and valid UK Provisional Photo Card Driving Licence; in-date and valid passport, a UK biometric ID Card/Residence Permit (BRP), an Armed Forces Identity Card, a proof of age card recognised under PASS with a unique reference number (this includes the Citizen ID Card), N.I. Electoral Identity Card or a resident permit as per Home Office guidance.
For Non-British Nationals - an in-date and valid passport, Identity Card or Driving Licence from an EU or European Economic Area (EEA) country or a US Passport Card is required (original hard copy - not electronically).

Overview
OLEC 3 - Element 2 Install Small Part Steelwork
Pre-requisitesCurrently hold a valid sentinel card endorsed with Personal Track Safety AC and DCCR. Must have also obtained the OLEC 3 Core modules prior to attending.
Purpose - The purpose of this competence unit is to define the technical competence requirements for persons required to undertake construction, renewal, enhancement and modification activities of OLE.
Scope - This competence unit applies in all circumstances where any person is required to construct, renew, enhance and modify OLE on Network Rail Managed Infrastructure.The level and extent of responsibility shall include their own safety and that of others who might be affected by their work. The person shall be expected to refer to others for authorisation when required, shall be responsible for the implementation of the instructions and shall work within set procedures and specifications. The person is also responsible for the quality of their completed work.
Competence Unit - To prove competence in this unit, the person shall demonstrate their ability to complete the construction, renewal enhancement and modification activities in accordance with current working instructions.
