National Apprenticeship Week 2021

Today marks the start of National Apprenticeship Week 2021 during this week, we celebrate all things Apprenticeships. To start with, we want to share with you a group of Apprentices who started their Level 2 Rail Engineering Operative Apprenticeship in September 2020 with Ganymede

We asked some of the learners for their feedback on their experience so far. The feedback we received was enthusiastic with learners saying they felt valued, appreciated and part of the team.

Resource Co-Ordinator, Danny West from Ganymede had the following comments to make about the Apprentices.

“The Apprenticeship Programme is an important way to support talented individuals build their careers, transfer their skills, and encourage a new generation of rail engineers. The Apprenticeship Programme is a fantastic scheme as it allows you to mould the apprentices into the model worker. Apprentices learn the fundamental skills needed to work in the rail industry by undertaking work trackside, whilst developing academic skills in a classroom environment.

Beforehand they have usually little to no knowledge regarding the rail industry and by starting out as an apprentice, they can learn both the educational and practical side to the industry. They have provided us with additional resources to meet client expectations. They truly are a breath of fresh air with a fantastic attitude towards work. They have a positive attitude to work and want to do as much as possible to develop their skills & experience.”
