Certification
Upon successful completion of this course, competencies will be uploaded to Sentinel. Sentinel smart cards are ordered directly from Sentinel at www.railsentinel.co.uk
Pre-Requisite Requirements
It is the Sponsors responsibility to ensure candidates booked onto the course are eligible for the training they are to receive and in line with any relevant medical level or restriction that may apply, in accordance with NR/L2/OHS/00124 Competence Specific Fitness Medical Requirements.
Please be aware that candidates will be treated on a training event as if they are at work and they must comply with the relevant medical policy and bring their Sentinel Smartcard which will be swiped at the start of the course.
Please visit our revision material section on our website using the link: Revision Material
PTS holders attending a PTS recertification training event must meet the requirements of NR/L2/CTM/021 and demonstrate a minimum of 4 practice requirements on Network Rail Maintained Infrastructure. These must have taken place within 12 months from the date of this course.
These entries can be in the form of the blue logbook and/or Sentinel swipes. However, any blue logbook entries must be dated before 5th December 2025. Any recorded in the book after this date will not be accepted. All practice requirement records dated from 6th December 2025 must be electronic Sentinel swipes and show the specific competence. Work Experience Logbooks/swipes not meeting these requirements will result in candidates not being eligible to continue with the course.
Important Clarification: PTS will be deemed to have been used if any other competence that relies on PTS as a base competence is recorded (e.g., SW records will be accepted for PTS recertification).
Delegates:
Must bring Sentinel smart card endorsed with PTS & AC (not in learning support) and DCCR. Please be advised that the competency can only be recertified if it is valid or within the 8 week grace period
Must be a minimum age of 18.
It is adviseable to bring your Track Safety Handbook (you will have been provided with this on your PTS Initial course).
Meet the medical requirements of Network Rail Standard NR/L2/OHS/00124 Competence Specific Fitness Medical Requirements to minimum medical level 4 and NR/L2/OHS/00120 (Drugs & Alcohol).

Please be advised that PPE is not required for this event.
Failure to meet the criteria for successful completion of the course will result in the candidates PTS/AC/DCCR competency being taken down, requiring the candidate to attend PTS/DCCR Initial training again, which may include completing the E-learning module if this has not been attended previously.
