Operational and personal safety ? Point terminology ? Point fittings operation ? Maintenance and adjustment ? Testing ? Faults ? Theory and practical assessments

Six months workplace experience of signalling maintenance, a good understanding of signalling failures and incidents, and completed training in Signal Maintenance Testing Core Skills.

Please be advised, should delegates have achieved any signalling competencies that are not evidenced on Sentinel, can they please bring a copy of the certificates/cards with them to the course for the trainer.

Overview

The course is primarily aimed at staff responsible for the maintenance, testing and fault finding that applies to point fittings. 

Terminal Objectives:

At the end of this course successful delegates will be able to: ? Follow procedures for operational and personal safety ? Correspond point lie and point position ? Understand the operation of stretcher bars, supplementary drives and supplementary detectors ? Undertake maintenance, adjustments, testing, fault identification and rectification of stretcher bars, supplementary drives, and supplementary detectors ? Record test results.
