Aluminothermic Welder - RT 1 - 4 / TW 1- 4 - Interim Assessment

Upon successful completion of this course, competencies will be uploaded to Sentinel.

 

Pre-Requisite Requirements

Must be a minimum age of 18.

Must hold Sentinel smart card endorsed with valid RT1, RT2, RT3, RT4 or TW1, TW2, TW3 and TW4 competencies as applicable

Must be in possession of the current copies of both Process Suppliers Manual and Network Rail Specification.

Candidates shall be in possession of all relevant PPE (Full PPE Flame Retardent Visibility clothing - gauntlets, overalls (BS EN 150 11611), air fed mask (BS EN 12941 or similar), Fireman's safety boots (BS EN 345.2.53), ear defenders, clear safety goggles (BS EN 166), dark goggles (BS EN 169 marked with either GW5 or GW6) & hard hat (BS EN 397)) and certification prior to commencement of the assessment.  Failure to comply shall result in the candidate not being allowed to undertake the assessment.

The assessment will be carried out on a stillage.

Meet the medical requirements of Network Rail Standard NR/L2/OHS/00124 Competence Specific Fitness Medical Requirements and NR/L2/OHS/0120 (Drugs & Alcohol) and Network Rail Company Specification NR/L2/CTM/021 (Competence & Training in Track Safety).

Candidate must be available for contact by the assessor as a minum the day before.

Must Bring Photo ID - For British Nationals, one of the following (original hard copy - not electronically): a current and valid branded form of identity token, used for accessing the RMI (Railway Maintained Infrastructure) such as a Sentinel Card; in-date and valid full driving licence; in-date and valid UK Provisional Photo Card Driving Licence; in-date and valid passport, a UK biometric ID Card/Residence Permit (BRP), an Armed Forces Identity Card, a proof of age card recognised under PASS with a unique reference number (this includes the Citizen ID Card), N.I. Electoral Identity Card or a resident permit as per Home Office guidance.

For Non-British Nationals - an in-date and valid passport, Identity Card or Driving Licence from an EU or European Economic Area (EEA) country or a US Passport Card is required (original hard copy - not electronically).

It is the responsibility of the delegates local manager to decide upon their suitability to attend the course, in accordance with the current issue of NR/L2/CTM/021 Competence & Training in Track Safety.

Please advise any requirements if a site specific induction is required for the assessor to enter the site and what arrangements are in place for these to be undertaken.  Failure to do this may result in the assessor being refused access and the assessment may not be carried out.
