HEALTH & FITNESS STATEMENT

Entering or working in a confined space environment requires that you consult safety notices, work permits and read and thoroughly understand manufacturer s instruction manuals. Literacy and language comprehension are important requirements for any person entering or working in a confined space.

Similarly, since entering and working in confined spaces may be physically demanding, users should be physically fit and in good health and should, generally, not have problems with eyesight or hearing, heart disease, high blood pressure, epilepsy, fear of heights / confined spaces, vertigo, giddiness / difficulty with balance, impaired limb function, alcohol or drug dependence or psychiatric illness.

If you have any problems with literacy or language comprehension, or have any doubts about your fitness to enter or work in a confined space environment, you must bring them to the attention of your employer. This need not preclude you from entering or working in a confined space environment, provided your employer conducts an assessment and is able to put into place adequate measures, to take account of any difficulties you may have.

Lunch is not provided on the course, however, complimentary tea and coffee will be provided throughout the day. You’re welcome to bring your own lunch; canteen and welfare facilities are available. You will also be made aware of local food outlets on the day.

Attendance and timings are essential for successful completion of the course; please ensure you arrive in good time and return from lunch as instructed.
